His .dentil, which was sudden, causes a byelection for South Birmingham, which his son, Viscount Jtorpeth, now represents in the House of Commons. The Earl of Carlisle was born in 1843, and succeeded Ills uncle in 1889. From 1879-80, and from 1881 to 1885, he was Liberal member of the House of Commons for. East Cumberland.
