The Conservatives declare that reciprocity with the United States is needless, and that if Canada had waited the Democrats would have given all tho tariff concession Canada is likely to gain under reciprocity. Washington, April U. The Democrats favour the wholesale revision of the agricultural tariffs, following the passage of the Bill, and placing on the free list commodities benefiting the farmers.
(Rec. April 16, 5.5 p.m.) Washington, April 15. The House of Representatives is discussing the reciprocity proposals. Strong opposition is developing, but the passage of the Bill through the House is assured. .
