MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL.
A 'monthly meeting of tho Makara County Council was held yesterday, Mr. G. Monk presiding, and Messrs. Hoggerty, Bryant, Moore, Eastwood, and Hawkins also attending. A letter was received from the Korj) Koro School complaining of tho proximity of a settler's pfgs to tho Toad", and of an alleged nuisance created thereby.—lt was decided to call tho attention of the authorities to the matter. I was resolved to add ten per cent, to outstanding accounts, and to take lestal proceedings against ratepayers who still remain defaulting in their nayments. Accounts amounting to 11s. 9d. were passed for payment.
