ANOTHER STATE FARM REQUESTED.
SOUTH CANTERBURY ASPIRATIONS. In reporting the proceedings of a meeting, of nWaimate A. and P. Association, a southern exchange says that Mr. Wallace brought up the question'of an experiment farm. This had been suggested by the Waihaorunga settlers and-ap-proved by the Fanners' Union. Jlr. Francis said' that'Mr.Buddo. had replied to, tho deputation at Waihaorunga to the effect that he ■ was very favourable to the ■ aspirations of South Canterbury farmers 'to'have a.farm, but was.against having it away from cay communication. ; Ho moved, that Sir W: J. Steward'bo asked to. urge upon the .Department..tho'desirability 'of establishing an experiment farm near the main line in Waimato County. Mr. Hunter seconded, and the morion was carried unanimously.
