To-day the Hon. J. Carroll will be in Auckland, the Hon. J. A. Millar in Wellington, the Hon. G. Fowlds in Auckland, the Hon. D. Buddo in Christchurch, the Hon. T. Mackenzie eii route for the south, the Hon. R. M'Kenzie in Wellington, and thj Hon. A. T. Ngata in Auckland. The Hon. D. Buddo was a passengerfor the south yesterday. Hu spends Easter at Kaiapoi, his constituency. Tho Hon. 0. Fowids left for Auckland yesterday, where he will spend Easter. The Hon. R. M'Kenzie returns to Wellington from Hie Wairarapa to-day. The Hon. T. Mackenzie left last evening for the south, where he will spend Easter. Mr. Justice Coopsr is leaving Wellington for Hamilton to-day to spend the Easter vacation. .Yesterday the clerical staff of the Wellington Customhouse assembled to say good-hyc to Mr. E. S. Fornc, one of their number, who is being transferred to the Napier office after six years in Wellington. In asking Mr. Forno to accept a small token of tho esteem in which he is held. Mr. W. Eose, Collector of Customs, referred to the recipient's capabilities, and wished him success in his new position.
Mr. Jobn S. Swan, who has been spending a holiday in Sydney and Melbourne, returned to Wellington by the- Marama yesterday.
Mr. Hayward, Inspector for the Mutual Life and Citizens' . Assurance Company, Limited, has arrived in Wellington after a four months' tour of inspection throughout Australasia. He is to return to Sydney in about a fortnight's tinie. Mr. Robert Angus, manager in New Zealand for Thos. Cook and Sons, arrived from Auckland yesterday. Mr. W. C. Churchill, Past High Chief Ruler in the Rechabite Order, accompanied by. 8r0...W\ J.- Gaudin, Disti'lW, Chief Rulor of the New Zealand Central District, visited New Plymouth yesterday, and was entertained by the local Tent, and representatives of various kindred societies. In' the evening he delivered an address on the work of. the Order to a fair attendance.—Press Association. A pleasant meeting of member* of the office and maintenance staffs of the Wellington Gas Company was hold last evening. Two members of the staff were the recipients of presents on the eve of their marriage. The secretary (Mr. Hill), in a. pleasing speech, presented to Mr. L. Seivers a dinner service, and to Mr. C. Wood a handsome fender. In happy little speeches, both members thanked those who had given the presents. Mr. I). A. Aiken, assistant general manager of the Union Steam Ship Company, is at present visiting Wellington. Mr. C. T. Lloyd passed away at the ago of 70 years at his residence at Apiti on Sunday morning. Ho was an old identity, having resided in tho Feilding district for some years. For some timo past ho had bosn in a very low state of health. The Rev. Edward Walker's resignation of his pastorate at Halcombe has been accepted by tho Wanganui Presbytery. Mr. Walker and his family intend'settling in California. Mr. A. R. Atkinson announces himself as a candidate for Wellington East at tho forthcoming general election.
Exchanges of posts in the Hoyal New Zealand Artillery, have been arranged as follow :—Captain G. E. B. Mickle, gunnery section, Wellington Detachment, is' transferred to Auckland; Captain H. H. Pilkington, gunnery section, Auckland Detachment, to Canterbury (Lyttolton); Lieut. Sandle, gunnery section, Canterbury Detachment, to Dunedin;' and Captain M. M. Gardiner, gunnery section Otago Detachment, to Wellington.
Mr. K. S. Pasley, chief clerk at the Hastings railway station, is being transferred to Wellington. Tor the past nine months he has been acting as stationmaster there.
Eichard Arnst, champion sculler of the world, arrived from" Sydney by the Marauia yesterday.
