A MINISTER HECKLED.
DELAYED INCOME TAX DEMANDS. By TcleEraph-l'ress Association-Copyright (Rec. April 11, 11.20 p.m.) London, April 11. Mr. Hobhouse, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, was heckled in Parliament to-day in connection with the failure of the Treasury, to issue inconio taj? demands in time to enable many largo firms to pay before the end of tho financial year. It had been alleged that this was done to prevent the money from going automatically into old sinking funds. Mr. Hobhouso stated that the Chairman of the Board of Inland';i'Revenue gave instructions to a subordinate, who made a mistake in tho course of executing them. The Minister admitted that the responsibility must rest as a last resort upon himself, but added that no orders delaying tho collection had been given by the Treasury.
