WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY.
Tiie Wellington Presbytery met in St. John's Church yesterday morning, the Rev. A. T. Thompson (Moderator) presiding. Apologies for absence were received from Dr. Gibb and tho Kev. W. Comrie. The Hew T. Miller, of Westport, was present and was associated with the Presbytery. Mr. J. .0. W. Aitken "moved that tho dork be instructed to inform ministers that long-service certificates may be obtained in recognition of 25. or more years' service in Sabbath schools. . , The committee entrusted with'arranging for 'the celebration : of the '.Tercentenary of the publication of the Autlior-is-cd Version of the Bible reported that a united demonstration would bo held in St. John's Church, on Wednesday, Slay 3, at 8 p.m. It is anticipated that there will be a largo and representative gathering. The Evangelistic Committee reported that encouraging missions had been held at'\l3rooklyn and St. James's, Newtown, and were at present being conducted at Fcatherston and Pahiatua. For the adequato reception of immigrants arrangements were made for meeting them at Hobart, and welcoming them on arrival at Wellington.. Mr. Keith offered his office as a callingplace for any seeking information. Messrs. Smith and Kluill waited on tho Presbytery on behalf of tho Roscncath congregation. Steps have been , taken for the erection of a 'church, and tho plans were laid before the Presbytery. On the wotion of the Rev. Mr. I'aterson and Mr. Aitken it was resolved to congratulate tho congregation on their enterprise, and to approve of tho plans.
