BILLIARDS.

GRAY'S STROKE APPROVED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, April 9. Tho Billiards Control Club does not intend to introduce rules interfering with Gray's stroke, which is considered quite legitimate. Gray's losing hazard stroke has b«n much discussed of late. Gray plays these hazards from hand live times of six, hitting the object ball about three-quarters full. His endeavour is to bring the red back into a square of about a foot midway between the centre spot and the centre of the baulk line. If the red ball travels a trifle too far he tries a fine, gentle drop into cither middle pocket, if not far enough he plays the ordinary halfhall into one of the top pockets, bringing the red hack again to his favourite position. When in full swing at the middle pockets ho is timed lo secure five shots per minute, his rate of scoring being 1)00 per hour. A corespondent" of "The Times" recently suggested that, instead of barring tho stroke, all losing hazards should count two points and all cannons tiuee.
