0 (From Our Special Correspondent.) The annual general, meeting of the Petonc Junior Club was held last evening. Thero was an excellent attendance, and' Mr. W. Fraser, president, occupied the chair. The report and bal-ance-sheet, which were adopted, showed that 32 members had been elected during the year, and 22 resignations had been received. Various'tournaments had been held, and the proceedings at these had been marked by enthusiasm. Tho club Tt'.n int-o second placo in the interclub billiard tourney. Several ladies' evenings had also been held. The thanks of the club were due to Messrs, Frasci'j Loddcr, Pickard, Bricc, Howe, Barnes, Taylor, and Pointon Hill for donations and trophies. The aggregate cup for tho athletic division had been won by E. Price, and "Joe" Ryan, they having tied with six points each. The balancesheet showed receipts amounting to £308, 12s. 3d., and expenditure £299 16s. j credit balance, £8 16s. 3d. Assets over liabilities totalled £211 6s. 6d. Officers were elected for the year as follow President, Mr. AV. G. Fraser; vice-presidents, Messrs. Palmer, Hardham, and Barnes; secretary, Mr. F.' Elbe; treasurer, Mr.' 11. Cavcrhill; auditor, Mr. J. Lynskoy; committee, Messrs. Ryan, Loppor, Hooper, Bayncs, M'Kecknie, and Verity. Tho Pctonc Police Court returns for the quarter ending March 31 show the following particulars:—Number of persons summoned or arrested, 53 males, 3 females; discharged for want of prosecution, 2 males, 1 female; discharged on merits, 1 male, 1 female; summarily convicted, SO males, 1 female; fined, 29 piales, 1 female; 25 plaints were issued, and the amounts sued for totalled £181 75., of which £171 18s. 2d. was recovered. Civil fees produced £8 135., criminal £-1 35., and fines £30 10s. The Lower Ilutt figures show that the number of cases heard was 72. Tile number of plaints issued was 05, and the aggregate amount sued for was £388 3s. Of this sum £322 Bs. 9d. was recovered. Nine judgment summonses wero heard, and in three cases orders wore made, while, the warrants of committal numbered four. Ninety summonses were served. The amount of civil fees total £27 lis., of criminal fees £12 los., and fines £12.
