THE BARREN JACK DAM. By Telegraph—Preaa Associatibn—Copyright. (Rec. April 7, 10 p.m.) Sydney, April 7. Mr. Elwood Mead, the Victorian Irrigation Expert, has examined tho Barren Jack irrigation scheme, on the Murrumbidgee River, at the request of tho New South Wales Government. Mr. Mead says the area to bo irrigated from .the great storage reservoir now being constructed will accommodate 300,000 people for a start. Americans,, he considers, are the' best irrigationists, as they best understand the conditions of success. Ho thinks that those Americans who are now migrating to irrigation areas in Mexico would be glad to come to Australia, if inducements were offered.
