CORONATION EXHIBITION.
PRACTICALLY ALL SPACE GONE. The Wellington Industrial Association have every reason to bo gratified at the manner in which their exhibition proposal has been supported right from tho outset. Fours were expressed at one time whether Wellington was exactly ripo for such an exhibition at flie present time, and the old cry of "postpone" was raised, lint there were a few practical, forceful minds at work who pushed tho matter to an issue, and so—the New Zealand Coronation Exhibition, which is to be opened on May 21. It has been stated that this exhibition is to be a small one, but tho public should not be permitted to run away with that idea. There is more space in this exhibition than there was in the year 1808-7. In that exhibition the amount realised in space fees, at Is. per superficial foot, was «CIO2-t ss. Ctl. If the space were sold at tho same price for this exhibition the amount realised would be ,£1035 17s. J3ut, as only Gd. per foot is being charged, only half' that sum will be realised. The commercial exhibits will occupy 20,717 superficial feet, in addition to which there will be 2882 feet sot apart for home industries and educational exhibits, and 1820 feet for the purposes of an art gallery, making a grand total of 25,C3S superficial feet of floor space. When a Wojiinmon representative last called at the office of the secretary (Mr. H. F. Allen), there were only 1805 feet still to be let, and the greate/proportion of that space was under offer.
