THE HUGH WARD RECEPTION.
The reception to Mr. Hugh J. Ward by tho citizens of Wellington is to take place at the Town Hall on Monday afternoon next. Particulars appear in an advertisement elsewhere. The committee that has arranged the reception and also for special presentations to Mr. Ward, Miss Palotta, and the other members of the company/has met with a very generous response, and the function promises to be in every way a success. As it is. not proposed to inflict upon the public lengthy speeches, an excellent concert programme has been arranged. Tho members of the Wellington Theatre Orchestras. Miss Mabel Fowler, the Australian soprano, Mr. E. .1. Hill, and Mr. J. F. Oarr have volunteered their services for the concert portion of the reception, and the Dresden Company. is supplying a grand piano free of charge. There is to be no charge for admission and the committee will be glad to see a large attendance of the public with a view to cxpressinc approval.of the.excellent work done by Mr. Ward and alsrt by the members of his company in aid of the funds of the Children's Hospital.
