The island of Illooango -Lagoon, Salvador, disappeared en December 17, after a series of earthquake shocks, add slid into the depth of the lagoon, carrying with it nearly all the inhabitants. At least seventy families, numbering all told about 170 men, women, and children, were engulfed.
