COLLECTION DELAYED. Dy Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright,' (Rcc, April 5, 10.45 p.m.) London, April 5. There is much comment over tho fact (lint a number of tho largest railway companies and business houses did not rocoivo their income tax demands in time, for (hem to pay before the end of the Inst financial year. This has been attributed to tho desire of Mr. Lloyd-George, knowing that a surplus was assured, to prevent it from going automatically to the old sinking funds. Mr. Hobhouse, Financial Secretary to tho Treasury, admits tho delay, but states that it was duo to a subordiuato'* 1 mistake. . ' ■
