The decision of the Council of the Neif Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to hold the Australasian championships at Wellington has caused a good deal of comment hero. The officials of the Otago Centre complain of (lie council's action, in over-ridim,' Hie opinion expressed at Die recent Conference of Centres, and express surprise at the action of the Otago delegates in ignoring their instructions, and not ietting the cenlre know beforehand the attitude which they intended Inking up. It is also asserted that there has bean no difference, of opinion in Ihe Otago Centre as to (lie advisability of Olngo endeavouring to secure the Australasian Championship meeting. Tho only division of opinion, it is stated, was with regnrd to the stand that should be taken concerning the expenses of tlia meeting, but that was due lo some members thinking that, a certain course respecting expenses might, prejudice Dunodin's chances of obtaining tiie meeting.
