.To-day the Hon. J. Carroll, ActingPrime Minister, will bo in Wellington. The Hon. J. A. Millar, the Hon. G. Fowlds, and the Hon. E. M'Keilzie will also be in Wellington, (ho Hon. 1). Buddo is | in Canterbury, the Hon. T. Mackonzio is in the Taranaki district, and the Hon. A. T. Xgata. on the East Coast. The Hon. J. Carroll (Acting-Primo Minister) was unwell yesterday, and unable to attend at his offices. At a meeting of the Board of Directors of Iho Bank of New Zealand held yesterday Mr. Harold Beauchnmp was reelected chairman for the ensuing twelve months. Among the passengers who are proceeding to Kan Francisco by the Manuka are Major-General Broadwood and Mr. Aldridge, who have been visiting Now Zealand. Dr. Malcolm M'barcn, of Auckland, is also a passenger by the vessel. Ilis Grace the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington (Dr. Redwood) returned from a holiday trip to Tasmania and West Australia yesterday by the Moeraki. The Archbishop, after a brief sojourn at Hobart, sailed for Frcniantlc by the Orsova en route to tho consecration ceremonies in connection with the investiture of Dr. Cluno to the Bishopric of Perth (W.A.). The visiting dignitaries were accorded a public reception at I'romantlc, and again at Perth, and were everywhere most hospitably entertained, numerous excursions being arranged for them. Dr. Chine, who, it will be remembered, was the head of the Redemptorist Order in New Zealand, succeeds Bishop Gibney, who is retiring on superannuation at a ripe old age. Councillors Stafford and Bannister, of tho Onslow Borough Council, have definitely decided not to seek re-election.

At a representative meeting of supporters of tho Opposition held at Ohaevai, Mr. 0. Wilkinson, chairman of Ihe trrmgonui County Council, was unaninouslv selected as the Opposition enndilate for the Bay of Islands. Tho Kev. Mr. Barney Levy arrived in Wellington yesterday to' make arrangements for the Wellington season of the George MarlonDramatic Company, which commences at the Opera House on Lnstcr Saturday. Mr. V. Simpson, Commissioner for Crown Lands, Taranaki, retires from th? service on April .10. The. vacancy is to ho filled by Mr. W. Armstrong, at present chief drau'ghtsman in the Duncdin office. Mr. Simpson joined the Government service in 1875, and became Commissioner of Crown Lands in 1901. Archdeacon I>. Walsh and the Kev. S. Nixon, of Auckland, are proceeding to London by tho Runhino to-day. Included among the passengers who are leaving for London by the lluahine today are Major C. Dean-Pitt and Mrs. Dean-Pitt, and Contain Bowcring, of H.M.S. Powerful. Mr. and Mrs. J. Kirker, of Auckland, arc also passengers by tho vessel. Mr. Hosking, K.C., of Duncdin, who becamo indisposed on Tuesday while conducting a case at the Wellington Appeal Court, was still lod ur.:nTi yesterday to appear in the Court. Mr. James Morgan, touring manager for Mr. George Stephenson's "Wanderers" Company, arrived from Sydnsy by the Moeraki yesterday to make arrangements for a tour of Xew Zealand, which commences in Wellington on Easter Saturday. Mr. Morgan was last in Wellington with Mr. Mel. B. Spurr. Mr. Ben Fuller returned from a visit to Sydney by the Mceraki yesterday.
