NEW ZEALAND'S BIG BILL, By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrizht Sydney, March 2S. The chairman of the Royal Commission is taking evidence on the question of higher education. Ho stated that while tho Australian States' expenditure on education ranged from 7s. Bd.-to 12s. lOd. per head, New Zealand spent 18s. a head. The "Daily Telegraph," commenting on this, says it is highly creditable of New '/eaVind to devote so much moro money lo education in all branches than any Df _JJi— Australian States.
