(From Our Special Correspondent.) Masterton, March 2". Tho annual meeting of tho AVairarapa Hunt Club held on Saturday was prosided over by Mr. W. H. Buick. Tho annual report showed tho assets of tho elul) to be £Ul, and the liabilities nil. It was dccided that tho hunting season should open in April. Officers were elected as follow:—Master, Mr. C._P. Bal-lanco;"deputy-master, Mr. li. Buick; sub-deputy-masters, Messrs. W. Howard Booth (Carterton), W. AVhalo (Foatherston), li. D. Morrison (Blairlogie), E. Collerton (Tinui), E. G. Harris (Whnkataki), J. Colter (Greytown), and AV. Tilson and .T. M'Master (Martinborough). Mr. 11. W. Smith was elccted huntsman. At a meeting of the oil Star rrrP'Ml Club oil Saturday the resignation of. Mr. B. Iveson as secretary was accepted, and Mr. J. Connell was appointed in his stead. It was decided, that the seasou should bo opened with a match between teams picked by tho Selection Committee. Tho secretary was instructed to obtain permission to uso tho old show ground on April 22. Tho .Masterton Golf Club opened its season on Saturday, when an interestilig medal match was played. Afternoon tea was supplied by Mrs. H. G. "Williams and assistants. It is' expected that, the sitting of tho Supreme Court, which opens hero to-day, will extend very nearly through the week. Thomas Maloney, of Masterton, labourer, has been adjudicated bankrupt. His statement shows a deficiency of .£Ol. AVhiio driving with friends along tho Tinui Road at tho latter end of last week, Mrs. Maunsell was thrown froma vehicle, and sustained a severo shaking and bruises. A harvest festival was held in connection with tho local corps of the Salvation Army to-day. The platform was a miniature harvest field.
