> MEETING AT NEW PLYMOUTH. (By Telecraph— l'rcss Association.! New Plymouth. March 27. On Sunday morning members of- the Women's Christian Temperance Union attended St.. Mary's Anglican Church, and three ladies occupied New Plymouth pulpits. After the evening services a mass meeting was held in tho theatre. There was a crowded attendance. Miss Powell gave a sketch of tho W.C.T.U. work. Mrs. Don (Duncdin) placed the aims of tho organisation before the public. Mrs. Berryman (Ashburton) testified to tho success of No-License in tho electorate where she resides. Monday was occupied with reports of work done. A resolution was passed: 'That this convention expresses its entire sympathy with the efforts being inado to provide scientific instruction in domestic economy, and views with much pleasure tho foundation of the Chair for Homo Economics in Otago University."
