"ALL BRITISH" SHOPPING WEEK.
IDEA WIDELY TAKEN UP. By Telegraph—Press Association-Oopyrieht London, March 26. Forty British towns have initiated an "All British Shopping Week," on the same lines as' that of London. OFFICIAL INAUGURATION. (Rec. March 27, 10.10 p.m.) London, March 27. The Lord Mayor, at the Mansion House to-day, inaugurated the All-British Shopping Week. If the week proves a success, the question of making it an annual fixturo will be considered. Many shops have been decorated with the Union Jack and tri-colour bunting. The idea of the All-British Shopping Week has been received so. warmly 'by manufacturers and retailers that the movement is now . spreading throughout' iho country, and it is probable (says the "Standard of Empire" of February 17) that a. universal All-British Week will be held in the provinces as well as in Ixmdon from March 27 to April 1. Among the chief cities and towns which have decided to take part in the All-British Week simultaneously with London aTe Manchester, Leeds, Leicester, Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham, Hastings, and Brighton.
