TIMBER PRICE RAISED.

INDIGNANT SAWMILLERS. (By Telenraph.-Press ABSoclatlcn.l Grcymouth, March 25. A meeting of West Coast sawmillers decided, owing to the increased wharfage now imposed by the Greymouth Harbour Board on all Umber exported, that the price of O.I?, lines, representing about one-fifth of the total output, be increased 3d. per 100 ft. Great indignation was expressed by the millers present at the action of the Harbour Board in placing this further handicap on the timber industry, more especially in view of tho fact that at the meeting this increase was decided upon the Harbour Board saw lit to make a present of .£IOOO to the purchasers of the Rrunncr Mines by way of rebate on coal royalty. It was also pointed out that it was impossible to raise the price on contracts made for a considerable time, therefore, the charge imposed must come out of tho pockets of the' sawmillers.
