The Government lias resigned, but President Diaz has deferred acceptance or rejection of tho resignations. The reason for the Ministers' action is tho belief that the retirement of tho Cabinet would facilitate tile establishment of peace, with political reforms. The insurgents believe that tho granting of thoir demands is imminent. Reports received .from Presidio, in Texas, assert that the insurgent forces defeated the Federal troops near Chihuahua City. The Federal loss is reported to be 160 killed.
