WELLINGTON SHARE MARKET. The market was very quiet yesterday, and only three sales were recorded. New Sylvias changed hands at 2s. lid. in the morning, and at the afternoon call they were sold on 'Change at 35.; Saxons sold in the afternoon at 2s. 2?d. DREDGING. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunotlln, March 24. Dredging returns: — 909 Dredge, 121oz.; Good Chance, 500z,; Manuherikia, 390z.; Koputai, 240z.; Electric 11, 220z. 7dwt.; Masterton, 19oz. 3dwt.; Hartley and Riley, 18os.; Waikaia, lOoz, Bdwt. .At'the Thamesdeep levels; the work of timbering up the deep level crosscut has been completed for a distance of 3Cft. through the broken country to the face, and work in the face has been resumed. The country in the face is still of a more open jointy nature, and will require to be kept close timbered to keep it safe. This will somewhat retard progress until a change is met with, which may he at any time, as it is not likely that the: present - existing formation will continue for any distance.--'-The face.jof the ( was,-ex- - tended .a distance of 13ft,'. Jast week',. addition to the timbering done. The manager of the New Sylvia mine, Thames, reports that the country being penetrated at the new low level continues hard and'difficult to blast. Last week the contractors advanced the face 7ft., misios a total of 605 ft. Tliti contractors arc wonting t-he battery machinery'slowly to pet bearings, belts, etc., in 6inooth working order. Slight adjustments are being made whero required. Placing the engine together is well performed, and concrete foundations, mills, and floor of enginehouse arc complete. The erection of the building will go on at onee, and the new assay building will bo completed •at an early date. Jlay Queen.—No. 10 level. 1000 ft.: Extending 'the south drive on the reef is being carried on. The reef still looks well, and shows favourable mineral,...ln the northern crosscut a leader was met with about. Hn. wide, and the ijuartz carried zinc niendeand copper pyrites. The strike of the. loader is about oast and west It is expected the Deep Levels Mining: Board will have finished putting in the 22in. diameter airpipes and connecting with the Roots'a blower 6omo time this week, when a start will bo made to drive eastward on the reef known as tho Exchange Eeef,. which was intersected by the deep level crosscut in : the May Queen ground. No. 9 level: In the. northern crosscut the usual work of stoping ou the No 4 lode and branch leader is being carried on. and a little gold is seen in the quart?, at each breaking down.. No 6 level: At the intermediate level sinking tho winze on the footivnll branch of No. 4 lode is proceeding, and a little picked stone is occasionally selected from the quartz broken.
