Avery (secretary). . ,'l'he- llawke's Bay Union forwarded an appeal lodged by the Danncvirke SubUnion against the disqualification of a certain player on a charge of having used foul language whilst looking on at a match. It was decided that, as the appeal had not been lodged within- tho required time, it could not be considered. ■The Festival of Empire Sports Committee wrote asking the committee if it could make a donation to the fund which is bfing raised to send a team of New Zealand athletes Home to the. Empire Spcf.-ts.

;The chairman thought that this was a ease in which the union should do something, oven if the action, was not strictly according to the rules. Several members expressed the opinion that a vote of £o ss. should be passed, and they undertook to make up the , money out of their own| pickets, if delegates took exception to the action!
