PALMERSTON DOINGg. The spflrts'ground_at Palmerston was fully .occupied on Wednesday alternoon, when three championship matches were played. These were decided in each case on "the first innings. In the Manawatu v; Phoenix B game the former went ill first and the nine men available were disposed of for 75 (Harden 2S, R. Abraham 18).' Phoenix B then went in, and treated their opponents to a considerable amount of leather-limiting, the total reaching 245. Of this Munro contributed 117 and then retired. Other double-figure scorers were: Roberts 28, Johnston 22, Kinnear (not out) 18, Sutton lfi, Holland, 13. Phoenix A beat Railway by 144 (Boon, retired, 50, Cleland 37, Skelly 17, Caithness 17) to S7. (Shelton 29, Brown 10.) High School 103 (Young 28, Hanna 22, Luxford 25) were victorious over City, 81 (Wilson 29, Cuthbertso'n 12, Oakley 11).
