AND QUITE A NOVEL ONE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Dunedln, March 17. A claim for £11,200 was made on tho Otago School Commissioners to-day by Patrick Maher, a well-known resident of Wendonside, who contends that lie has suffered monetary loss through tho commissioners not leasing to him an area of land on Run 326 which ho applied for in 1890.' Tho claim is made up as follows:— Loss of 320 acres at £1 per aero from 1900 to 1914, £1480; from 1914 to 1928, at £1 15s. per acre, £6720. His offer, ho said, was about 6s. 3d. per aero as against tho present rental of under 2d. per acre. Ho asked tlio commissioners to request that a Royal Commission be set up to inquire into tho administration of tho commissioners during their wholo term of office and into his claim especially. Tho letter was minuted as "received."
