LODGE MEETING.
The Sons and Daughters of Temperance held their fortnightly meeting on Tuesday last at tho i'riendly Societies' Hall, Street. A number of matters of interest were discussed, amongst which was tho arranging for delegates to attend the coining tcmperanec meeting, which is to be held m tho Town Hall three weeks' hence in connection with the Order of Uechabites. The purpose is to welcome the English temperance speakers who are now in Australia. During the evening, JJro. Fatten, P.11.W.1 1 ., presented Sister Winter (Chaplain) with a silver emblem, supplied by the national division for' introducing five new members during 1910. In presenting tho emblem, Bro. Patten-stated that he hoped that Sister Winter would maintain her enthusiasm and bring along a larger number if possible this year. Sister Winter, in tile course of a short speech, in reply, mentioned that, for her own part, she was willing to donate a prize to .any member of another.'divisioil who would introduce more than five members this year.
