A meeting of manufacturers and merchants under the auspices of the Empire League was held at the Guildhall to-day, Lord Avebury presiding. It was decided to form an Empire Trade Mark Association.' Br. M'Call, Agent-Goncrni for Tasmania, in w-irmly supporting the proposal, said that consumers wore entitled to know whether or not goods were produced within the Empire. Tasmania always gave a preference to the Motherland and his instructions were not to buy outside merely for the sake of a five, ten, or fifteen per centum advantage. (Cheers.)
