Last evening a meeting of Vogeltown residents,.: called to further the claims nbove outlined, was held at the residence of-Mr. Jacks. Mr. Hewitt .'tw' Bided over an .attendance of .about thirty, and apologies were ' offered . for . the ■absence of twelve other- residents who could not conveniently attend.. Mr. J. P. Luke, M.P., wrote apologising for his nonattendance, and expressing sympathy with the object of the meeting. . Mr. E. A; Wright, M.P.,. was present. It was proposed that a deputation wait upon the Education Board to ask that a school be elected on the old site. After an animated discussion, in the course of which the olaims of the district to a 6chooJ were strongly supported, the resolution was carried unanimously. A large deputation of ladies and gentlemen was afterwards appointed to . wait upon the board on a date to 'be fixed by that body. ■ ■ . .
