Cooper) 1 informed the pressmen that they would 1 not bo allowed to bo present during the • proceedings. One of tile, pressmen asked 1 whether the Court had made an order to 1 that effect, and Mr. Cooper replied in tho 1 affirmative. The reporters, however, in- ■ timated that they, would prefer to await ' tlin Chief Justice and havo their dismissal, if at all, from his own mouth. ; Mr. Cooper then went out. fl<> re- ' turned a, few minutes later, and, addressing the reporters, said: "Gentlwncn, 3 1 have told his Honour that you aro e here, and what you havo said. He has f asked me to nay that the proceedings will i" be in camera, and he desires you to witk- - draw." The reporters withdrew. Subsequently, replying through a subi ordiuate officer of the Court to a question - put by the press representatives, tho - Registrar Said that publication of tho name of the case was forbidden.
