The weather was fine and warm, and tho course in good order for the continuation of tho Victoria Racing Club's autumn meeting. Tho course was in good order, an dcontrary to expectations tho club seemingly did not suffer by tho two postponement,. for the crowd present was a very big ono for an autumn meeting. The Governor-General,-Lord Dudley, the State Governor, Sir T. Gibson Carmichael, and the Duchess of Bedford were among the visitors. Tho following are the results :— AUTUMN HURDLE RACE, of 300 sovs. Three, miles. Mr. J.H. Crosbic's b. g. Battery, by Bundook—Ruin, aged, 9st. 31b 1 Hayrick, lOst 2 King's Ransom, -list. 7lb. 3 Ten started. Won easily. Time, sniin. ASCOT VALE STAKES,, of 1000 sovs. For tTyo-ycar-olds. Six furlongs. Mr. K. S. M'Leod's blk. c. Sconser, by Malstcr—Warfaro 1 Flaith 2 W'ilari ..;. . • 3 Also started: Durdans, Twa Brigs, Piastre, Blythcsome, Gidgiel, Sweet Malt, Futile, Wildtlower colt, Euphornian, Gazelle filly, and Abbeito. Piastre, Blythcsome, and Gidgiel were first to break the. line. Sweet Malt led at the distance, but Sconser, Wilari, and Flaith all challenged. Sconser drew away and won by a length from Flaith, who was a length and a half in front of Wilari. The last-named moved up to sixth placo at the bridge. Conge d'Eslire led past tho sheds two lengths and a half from Prizefighter, Herova, Applo Pie, The Parisian, and Aurofodina. Later Tho Parisian took command from Applo Pic. The Parisian led into the straight with everything his own way, Apple Pio being palpably done, and won easily by eight lengths, with a length and a half between second and third. Time, 3min. 57Jsec.
