MOTOR CYCLE TRIALS.

TO COMMENCE TO-DAY. The most important motor-cycle reliability trial ever held under the auspices of the New Zealand Motor-Cycle Club will commence at 5.45 a.nii, when the first lot of motor-cycles (lightweights) will set out on their long run ' to.. Wangahui. .The trials are divided into those for lightweights, heavyweights, and for teams of three, prizes to be awarded for reliability and petrol consumption (on formula), trophy or medal.value of £i 45.; petrol consumption only, £1 Is.; hill climb, «£l Is. The cycles are. .divided into two classes —private'owners and.ah open class (which includes those engaged'in the trade). The special prizes, will be as follow:—Lowest petrol consumption (irrespective of class), £1 Is.; fastest hill climb (ditto), ills;; "hard luck" trophy, .£1 Is.; teams prize, .£1 Is.; and also the Bidwill-Barton Cup, which will be won bv the rider gaining the most marks for reliability, hill-climb-ing, and petrol .'consumption. The reliability trial will bo from Wellington to Wanganui via Shannon, Palmerston, Awahuri, Feilding, ■ Marton, and Turakina (ICO miles), and the return journey (150.miles) will be made via Turakina, Hulls,- Palmcrston North, and Shannon, and will be decided on formula. The. petrol consumption will be held between Otaki and Wellington tomorrow, and will be ; decided oh formula, the tanks to be filled andvscajed at Otaki. Tho hill-climb test will iake place on the Paekakariki Hill .'to-morrow afternoon, and is included in the petrol consumption test. At tho conclusion of the hillclimbing competition, the cyclists will resume the journey to Wellington as before. The following are tho competitors:—
