INDIA STEAMER BEACHED.
A WAHATAH THEORY. By Telegraph—Press Assocla'Jon-CoDyrleUt. (Rec. March 9, 10.20 p.m.) London, March 9. The British India Steam Navigation Company's steamer Palitana struck an object on the South African coast, west of East London. The vessel has been beached, but there is little prospect of salving her.
"The Times" suggests that the same submerged object may have been responsible for the loss of the Waratah in 1909 in the same vicinity.
The Palitana is a vessel of 2098 tons gross. She was built at Glasgow iu 1886.
