The trial of Larctchkin, a member of 'the Black Hundred, on a charge of murdering a workman, throws light on the mach'inatious of the society and the immunity enjoyed by its members. It has been made clear that tho police havo utilised Hie lilack Hundred in various ways, and that several politicians, including Count Sergius Wittc (a member of Hie Council of Empire), were marked for assassination.
