The Admiralty has.adopted a new lifesaving apparatus for use in submarines, ft consists of a helmet attached to a jacket of waterproof material. In front of the jacket, inside, is a packet containing a. combined purifier and oxvgen generator, which makes it possible to breathe tho same air over and over again. The jacket can be inflated on reaching the surface, thus forming a life-belt.
