' A Petone Wedding, Our Petone correspondent writes that on Wednesday afternoon, at St,' Augustine's Church, Petone, Miss Chrissie Martin, second daughter of the late Mr. L. Martin, of Wellington, was married to Mr. Henry George Shardlow, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Shardlow, of Petone. The Eey. J. D. Itussell was the officiating clergyman.' Bradley, wore a pretty cream costume, finished with white satin and a" large white chip hat, trimmed with coloured velvet and wings -to match. She carried a shower bouquet of white dahlias, cosmas, and maiden-hair fern. Miss Doris Martin (sister of the bride) attended her as bridesmaid, and wore a white silk dress trimmed with silk insertion and a large black velvet hat with scarlet berries and velvet. She carried a bouquet of wine-coloured dahlias and maiden-hair fern.' Tho bridegroom was attended by Mr. L. Martin. The bride's present was a gold pendant set with rubies and pearls, and to the , bridesmaid was given a'gold brooch. A reception was afterwards, held at the residence of the bridegroom's parents.

Hutt Wedding. ' A pretty wedding was celebrated in the Hutt Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon, when Miss Louisa (Tot) Summers, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Wedding at^Mastertori; The marriage was celebrated in' Masterton yesterday of Mr. Allan Percy SniiHil eldest son of Mrs. J. Smith, of Clarcville, to Miss Annie Mitchell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.T.B.Mitchell,of Mas+erton. The bride was attended by-Miss Alice Mitchell and Miss Belle M'Pherson as bridesmaids, while the best man was Mr. Retter, 'and the groomsman Mr. E. ■ Greathead. Tho" ceremony was performed in St. Matthew's Church by the Rev. .Mr. Hampton. A reception was subsequently held at the residence of the bride's parents. A Roman,-Catholic bazaar on a very large scale is to 'be held at faster • time, the .proceeds of which arc to he devoted to the church and school-building fund for Northland. Tho arrangement of "preliminaries was discussed at a roe-sting held in -tho Guilford Terrace Hall on "Wednesday evening when the assistance of a number of ladies was promised. Bon Voyage. • ■ ;"_■ • \ There were many of Mrs. Rhodes's friends present on the, wharf, at the. departure of the Tongarii'o yesterday, among them being the committee of St. John's Guild, the-'secretary,' and tho district nurses. I n f.hc social hall of the steamer, Airs Rhodes was presented with a basket Of beautiful flowers, her initials being worked in gold on tho ribbon with which the llowors were fastened.' She was also presented with a'bouquet from the district nurses, Nurse Sexton, and Nurso Macandrew. Mrs Moorhouse, who also left for England by the same boat, was tho recipient of bouquets.

An "At Home.". .. „ 4 b , out persons attended-an at home in connection with the Church Ladies Social Guild of Knox Church. Masterton, at the residence of/Mrs. H. T. Wcotl on Wednesday. The function proved most eDjoynble. A sum of ,£8 4s. 6d. was realised in aid of the purchase of a set of crockery for use in connection with the guild.

Mrs. Lane, a former resident of Wellington, buj; now living in Perth, was a passeneer by the Mamma on Wednesday from Sydney. She is staying with .her sister-in-law, Mrs. Taplin, of Karori.
