Mrs. F. Riddiford, who lias been spending tome days in Wellington, left for (-hristchurch on Monday.

Mr. and' Mrs. Newton King, who have been paying a visit to Cambridge, returned to New Plymouth on Monday.

Mi=s Bedford returned to New Ply mouth from Wellington yesterday.

Nows has been received from Hiss Brailsford, who left Wellington last Dαcembsi\ to join her brother in 'Frisco, to say that sho is enjoying life there very much, indeed, but finds herself somewhat at sea at times ii/'-understanding what is said, owing to the different pronunciation oi the words. '

A very enjoyable "serial" was held at the Eooms last evening, and was largely attended by members.

The Wellington Girls' College are holding their swimming sports in the Thcrndon Baths ■ this morning at half-past eleven sharp. There is to be an old girls' race, and it is expected that some keen competition will take place. The college in. previous (lays has numbered swimmers in its ranks who have made thsir mark elsewhere, and it will be interesting to see what takes place this morning. ' ■
