THE RACING COMMISSION. A BUSY JOUUXEY. (liy TclejrraDh.-Press Association.) Auckland, March 7. The members of the Racing Commission, consisting ot Sir (Jeo. Clillord (chairmiin), Messrs. Nolan (Taranaki), J. jl'vey (Napier), J. Rowe (Auckland), and A. K. Cohen (Duncdiii), left Wungniiui by motor car yesterday morning and inspected the Wuvorley, i'nlea, Lepporlon, Eginont, Stratford, and New Plymouth Racecourses, conferring with tho representatives of the various clubs.

The party reached Onehunga by (ho steamer Karawa this morning, and, 'motor cars being in waiting, proceeded to Avondale Racecourse, also inspecting the Alexandra Park, L'llcrslie, and Takapunn Racecourses before lunch. They left, by steamer at four p.m. for Kopii where motor-cars will bo ready to convoy them to Thames to-morrow. They inspect tho Thames Racecourse and then proceed to Pacroa, Waihi, To Aroha, and Hamilton.

The commission will join the express for Palmerston North at Frank..

[Br Glf.ncoe.l Final arrangements have been completed for the shipping of Lady Medallist by the Manuka on Friday. A special box has been built for her, and tho owner, Mr. J. I). Reid, who arrives from (ho south to-morrow, will be present to sci> her shipped, as will J. 11. Prosser. The maro will go across in charge of a stable lad, and will be handed to F. M'Grath, the Randwick trainer, on arrival at Sydney. Great interest is suro to bo taken in tho meeting between the daughter of St. Alwynne and the Australian cracks, and if only she gees to the post fit and well she is suro to give a good account of herself. Vndnubtodlv she is tho best mure wo havo had in tho Dominion for many years, and combining as she does size, quality, and symmetry to a remarkable degree, it goes without saying that sho will attract favourable attention in Australia. So far no arrangements havo been made as to a pilot, for her, but most likely C. Jenkins will go over by a later boat to ride her. Sho has been scratched for her Ma.-tcrton engagements, and consequently will not be weighted. This will cause the hnndicapper to turn elsewhere for a top-weight. Mr. G. Hunter, president of the Dannevirkc Racing Club, was in town yesterday, lie returned north by the afternoon traiii, and will be present at the Cup meeting to-day. The purchase of Ribstone Pippin was completed yesterday, and the Australianbred gelding reached Levin last night. Later on ho will join the Porirua stable. Tho hurdle horse Tauira has been turned out for a spell, and will not bo taken up again for some weeks. Though his ligaments were badly strained, Playmate was sufficiently wefl lo undertake the trip to Porirua on Monday last, along with tho other members of J. If, Prosser's team. The Australian jockey, P. Moore, has joined tho Hon. J. D. Onnond's stable at Karamii.

Carrying about Sst. on Monday morning, Floater ran a very fast five furlongs on Ilio Awapuni plough, and in consequence he has come into favour for (he Hack Welter at Danuevirke to-day. Mr. ami Mrs. W. K. liidwill have pone throuah to DnnnevirUe to see Ovation race there to-dar.
