Ninety-six Indian chiefs, representing all the British Columbia tribes, waited on tho Premier (Mr. M'Bride), and asked for tho establishment of the tribes' proprietorial rights over all unsurrendered lands throughout tho province. Tho Preniier refused to consider that tho Indians possessed any such rights, and commented adversely on tho action of white men in stirring up tho tribesmen to raise the question.
