METHODIST CONFERENCE.
_ (, (By Telcsrapn-Prcss Association.) Christchurch, March i. The Methodist Conference resumed today. The iiome Missions Executive Committee reported recommending the allotment of grants to various stations for tho ensuing year. Tho recommendations were adopted. The Rev. T. U. Jirooko .was reappointed organising secretary, and Messrs. Jirooko and J. Venle were re-ap-pointed general treasurers of the iuml. Tho Home Missions executive recommended tho rescinding of tho iollowing resolutions passed by the last conlorence: "That grants for the support of Native ministers and Native home missionaries bo made on the same principle as that applied to the European Departments of the work, and that ministers and officebearers of Maori stations be notified that this will bo put into operation in 1911; that there bo no further increase in the cost: of Maori, work without, the express sanction of tho conference." The Rev. G. Bond' moved its an' amendment that instead of rescinding the second resolution it should be amended to read: "That .there be no further increase, in tho cost of Maori work for new enterprises without the express sanction, of the conference." The amendment was ' carried. Tho recommendation of the executive in regard to principles of administration of the fund contained in the report presented on tho previous day wore moved .for adoption, and, nftnt considerable discussion, the motion was lost bv 19' votes to 37. It was decided that the. Stationing Committee should hold its final meeting on-Monday at. 2 p.m. The conference then adjourned till Monday,
