Dental Association, has been appointed ail additional member of tho Dental Examination Board. Lieut.-Colonol Chaytor is a passenger by tho Mararoa, which is duo to .irrivo from tho south this morning. Colonel Stewart is also a passenger by the same steamer.
Included among the passengers who will arrive from tho south this morning by tho Mararoa aro Dr. Braner and tho Rev. Mr. Olds.
Mr. J. W. M. Harrison has been appointed' physical instructor for St, Patrick's College.
Mr. Geo. Craig, LL.B., chief clerk of tlio Customs Department, left yesterday by the Warrimoo on a holiday trip to Sydney.
Mr. J. W. Webber, headmaster of the Rotorua State School, has retired after 25 years' servico under tile Auckland Education Board." Ho has received a presentation from tlio residents of the town.
\ Mr. Wm. Berry, treasurer of the Wellington Bowling Club, and Mrs. Berry leave Wellington in a fortnight's timo on a trip to England. They will travel to Southampton by the Grosser Kurfurst, to leave Sydney on March 25. '
The Hon. Geo. Fowlds, Minister of Education, yesterday entertained Mr. Jas. Dunlop, one of tho Scottish Agricultural Commissioners, and Mrs. Dunlop, at luncheon at the Hotel Windsor. The party consisted of the Hon. Dr. and Mrs. Findlay, the Hon. Tlios, Mackenzie, Messrs. Lauronson, M.P., J. G. W. Aitken, Jas. M'Kerrow, J. K. Logan, H. N. Holmes, W. Crow, Dr. Hay, and Mr. and Mrs, J. D. Ritchie. Mr. and' Mrs. Dunlop aro natives of tho same parish as Mr. Fowlds,; Fenwick, Ayrshire.
Mr. Justice Chapman will return to Wellington to-day from Nelson by tho steamer Patecna. Mr. Justico Sim .arrived from Napier last evening, and will preside over tlio sitting of tho Arbitration Court, which will opeu on Moilday.
Mr. M'Nab, of Palmerston North, has been appointed a Governor of tlio Victoria College, vice Mr. Quick, resigned.
The four officers selected for training at Home will, it is understood, bo Lieu-tenant-Colonel Abbott, D.5.0., of Auckland, Lieutenant Stnndish, N.Z. Artillery, Lieutenant Turnbul, at present attending the Tauherinikau Camp, and, as previously stated, Captain R. J., Seddon, of the N.Z. Staff Corps.
