WELLINGTON WOOL SALES.

LAST OF THE SERIES, BROKERS' REPORTS ON PRICKS. The last wool sale of tlio season, as far ns Wellington is concerned, was held at the Tof/n Hall yesterday, when a total of 25-34 bales wore offered. The reports of the various brokers sufficiently indicate the state of the market, the ran go of prices, and other matters of interest to growers. They aro as follow:— Dalgety and Co., Ltd. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., report:—Wo f c< ? a c:lta '.°EUc of 698 bales, and sold 780 bales. As is usual at this time of the year, a large proportion of the offerings consisted of lambs' wool, the balance being mainly log-stained, dingy, and seedy lots of crossbred. There was a, good attendance of buyers, and we are pleased to report an advance, of from par to halfpenny, and in some a penny on rough wools on prices realised last sale. Forrest, Canvastown, 9 bales crossbred, 9d.: E. Stace, Aokautere, 4 bales lambs, 95d.; F. Haddock, Wostland, 8 bales crossbred, lOd.; W. Rodgcrs, Jlurchison, 3 bales three-nuarter-bred, 9£d.; Jas. Compton, Ross, 2 bales crossbred, 10id. Abraham and Williams, Ltd. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their sale as follows:—Our offering comprised 374 bales of mostly heavy late wools. Competition was keen for all sorts, and an all-round improvement in prices to the' extent of id. tier lb. can be quoted for flcecc wool, whilst pieces and bellies were about on a par. Lambs' wool also sold a shado higher than last quotations. Our top price was lid. for sonio very light-conditioned Romncy. Some of our sales were as follow:—CH, fine Romney, lid.; WN over O, Dno crossbred, 10ld.; incriuo, 101(1.; CO, halfbred, lCd.; 7 over —, fine crossbred, 9Jd.; Waiata, medium crossbrcd, BJd. to 9Sd.; JM over MAKO, lambs, 9d.; JBG, lambs, 91d.; PIT, medium crossbrcd, Bid. Levin and Co., Ltd. Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., report:—Our catalogue represented 250 bales, and buyers were present in good force. There were practically no good lots of fleece wool in tho catalogue, nearly all being heavy, lato chorn, back-country lots. Lambs' wool was in good supply. Competition was very keen for all lines, and compared with the February sale, the market showed an advance of Id. per lb. in all classes of wool. Wo sold every lot in the catalogue under tho hammer. The following is the range of prices. Wo do not quote merinos, halfbrcds, or fine crossbreds, owing to the want of representative samples:— Feb. 7. Yesterday. ; d. d. d. d. Although, for the most part, the fleece wool was of ,inferior', ini'dlity; and-'the not up to the usual average l ,' l bidding; waa brisk, and tho catalogues were practically cleared at nu advanco of 3d. to id. per lb. on February prices. All clean lambs' wool was in keen demand, and realised from. 73d. to 93d.; dingy and dirty, from 7d. to 7±a.; 'Very seedy, from <}d. to 6Jd. BJd.; AS over M, 4 bales crossbrcd H., from Fcilding, 9d.; KK over K, 3 bales crossbred, from Masterton, Bjd.; NB over M, 5 bales lambs, from Apiti, B>d.; SB over W,' 3 bales crossbrcd, from West Coast, South Island, 93d.; M, 8 bales crocsbred, from Marlborough, Sid.; 11 reversed over R over N. 4 bales crossbred, from Nelson, 83d.; ES over M. 3 bales lambs, from Manakau, 83d.; WAL. 9 bales crossbred, 7Jd.; 3 bales lambs, 7Jd., from Hawera; 11, 7 balos three-quarter-bred fine, from Marlborough, 9d. Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd., report as follows :-Our catalogue, totalled 650 bales. The attendance of buyers was very good, most of thoso operating during the mid-Ecason beins represented. The wools offered were mostly of very rough character, beiup late shorn, seedy, and very much bush-stained. A few fairly light-conditioned lots, early shorn wools dclaved in.transit, were catalogued. Competition waG very ten, especially for the few lots of better-class wool shown, ami prices all round advanced about a halfpenny per lb: above last sale's rates. Practically the whole of the wool catalogued was sold under the hammer, a very small proportion being passed in.
