CRICKET. THE WEDNESDAY CONTESTS. A FEAT WITH THE BALL. ' A cricket, match was played at New-t-own Park yesterday, in which 0110 of tho teams engaged represented George and George, of Cuba Street, and tho other tho Wellington travellers of various wholesale drapery firms. (Numerous spectators, including a number of ladies, were present by invitation. Afternoon tea was provided by -Messrs. George and George, and an enjoyable afternoon was spent. Scores:—Town Travellers: (Bacon IB), 74; George and George: (Vane 30, Barton 14, Dull 12), 73. Bowling for the travellers, Clarke took five wickets for 20 runs; for tho losers, Ellison took foi)r for 10, and Yare five for 20.
