The German-rAustralian',.. Steamship Company of Hamburg was established in. 1888. It has a fleet of 35 steam-ars. Three lines of steamers run. from; Hamburg, Antwerp, Rotterdam,' and Lisbon to 'Australia and South' Africa. One steamer a. month is dispatched regularly from Scandinavian ports, to Australia; and one steamer every six, weeks • direct to Java .ports, via Suez,, in addition to steamers of the two, lines which call at Java on the homeward voyage.' There is a service from NewJTork to Australia in connection with'the Tyser line, and also- between Australia, and Boston, via. South Africa. Tho largest of the line is the Rostock, 'Hot tons.
