Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report:—At our Wavcrlcy calo on February 24 wo yarded IECO sheep and 71 cattle, of which wo quitted 1200 sheep and £9 cattle. Prices for sheep showed a hardening tendency. Wo quote:—Forward wethers, 13s. 9d.; six-tooth arid f.m.ewcs, 13s. Id.; four-year ewco, Ss. to ?s. 6d.; f.m. owes, Vs.; cull do.i 3s. to 45.; Southdown rams, 51 to 53 guineas; aged Lincoln Tarns, 10s.; light fat hcifors, £4 155.; storo cows. £3 17s. 6d.; fresh do.. £4 lis.: wcancrs, £1 2s. 6d., £1 4s. 6d., £1 ss. 6d., £1 ICs. 6d., to £1 lis. 6d.; bulls, £3 3s. 6d„ £3 45.. to £4 Is.
Mossrs. A. IJ. Atkinson and Co.. Ltd.. Fcilding, had their usual yarding cf pigs and poultry on Friday, and a largo number of horses came forward. Thero was no change in lato ratc9 for pigs. Poultry told to better advantage; no pood lame birds were forward. Potatoes havo hardened in value, and aro selling for any gcod line? at from 93. to 10s. a sack. Messrs. Palgcty and Co., Ltd., report on Micir Foildlng sheep fair, held on Friday. February 24, as below:-.Y total yarding of 28,000 sheep caino to hand, tho bulk of tho entry being ewes, including a largo number of penn of particularly good Iloraiteys. For these and all tho better class of sheep' tho demand was exceptionally Itcon, and the extra high-priced'sheen met with good comoetition from local and outside buyers.. Our entry totalled 6200. practically' all of which .-hanged hands at following prices :—dull lambs, to 3s. 7d.: small lambs, to ss. 9d.; medium lambs, 7?. 3d.; two-tooth wet here, to '.2s : mixed-age cwos, 7s. 6d., Bs.. Bs. 6d., to 9s. 3d.: four and fiveyear cwos, ICe., 10s. 6d., lis., to lis. Jd.; small four-tooth ewes, to 12s. 2d.; six-tooth and four-year-old owes, to 12s.
