The syllabus, which is being circulated 1 . among liiedical men "throughout the Dominion, show's that the opening. classes : will be held from. April:s to April vl&V : The classes will be: essentially' practical; ■ and medical' men who desire. to ; avail themselves of them will have every, op- ' porturiity of personally practising' the" methods taughtand of making themselves familiar with the more modern methods , of diagnosis and treatment. And' in this ' connection it is interesting to note that: quite recently'there have been established I and made available, in addition to the I existing pathological laboratory, a fully-. I 'equipped bacteriological laboratory, and:'" a department of X-rays and medical electricity. The classes atwhich lectures and. , demonstrations will be given will include ' medicine, surgery, and dental surgery,'' 'while practical'courses have been arranged in connection with the pathological laboratory,; tho bacteriological; and. public health laboratory, and in the de-. partmeut of X-rays', and - medical electricity. The committee • which- has been set up in connection with-, these -post- ' graduate classes, and of ' whichV: Dr. ■-.■ Champtaloup is organising secretary, will endeavour as far as possible to meet the special individual: requirements of those attending the courses. The post-graduate course is quite a new departure as far as New Zealand is concerned, and follows on the lines; adopted .by'.' some of 'the.'leading medical schools at Home.'where , very full advantage is .taken of - the course by the medical profession; Those who purpose taking the post-graduate, course at the" Otago University must necessarily, of course, have-graduated'in-, medicine. : .".,; ..-. v?j" .'•
