After considerablo an efficient interpreter was found to interview the Finnish sailor Kitala, tho solo survivor from, tho Russian.., barquo Glenbank, .wrecked, near Logrando, ;Island a fortnight ago. , ~ , 4 '! , ■ Kitala says that when ho loft tlio wreck ho was accompanied by two companions and a dog. His companions disappeared shortly afterwards, and tho dog, with a terrified cry, was drawn under. •
Half an hour later, hearing a peculiar noise, ho turned and saw a tremendous shark, which attacked him at intervals. He fought the bruto off with a knife. Whilo on tho reef ho lived oil tbo raw flesh of turtles, which are-plentiful, but was unable to find water.
