TO SEE THE "ZOO."
: -> — COUNTRY CHILDREN IN i TOWN". A party of school children, consisting of'contingents from tho Belvedere, Dale-, field, and Parkvalo Schools, in tho AVairarapa, came down to Wellington yesterday by tho midday train to sco tho "zoo," museum, and other places of interest.. The party, numbered about 190 all told,; and was in, charge of the hcad-tcachcrs of schools represented— Mr. R. Stout (Dalefield), Mr. H. Nightingale (Belvedere), and Mr. J. Davidson (Parkvalo). Tlio excursion was a complete success. Lunoh was served just prior to tho arrival of the train at Wellington, aud by the courtesy of the City Tramways Department spccialcars wero waiting at tho station to take the visitors to Newtown Park. After , a pleasant hour or so at tho "zoo," tho party paid a visit to tho Nowtown Museum, and spent, the remainder of the day strolling about _ tho .. city anu wharves. Tho return journey was mado by a spocial train, which left Welliugtop at 0.5 p.m.
