Lord Islington will leave Dunedin for Christchurch this morning. The Prime Minister to-day will bo •en route from Dunedin to Christchurch, the Hon. J. Carroll is on the East Coast, the Hon. J. A. Millar will be in Dunedin, the Hon. Dr. Findlay in Wellington, tho Hon. G. Fowlds in Christchurch, tho Hon. T. Mackenzie in the Auckland district, the Hon. D. Buddo in Nelson, and the Hon. R. M'Kenzio in Wellington. The Prime Minister goes north from Dunediu to Christchurch to-day. Ho arrives in Wellington on. Sunday. The Hon. J. A. Millar leaves Dunedin for Christchurch to-morrow. He is "expected to arrive hero on Sunday. The Hon. Geo. Fowlds and his private secretary (Mr. Crow) were passengers by the Mararoa for tho south last night. The Hon. Dr. Findlay, Attorney-Gen-eral, returned to Wellington from Auckland last evening. The Hon. A. T. Ngata returned to Wellington last evening by the Auckland express. Mr. Hamilton, director of the Dominion Museum, is ■at present in Wanganui on business connected with the museum. Mr. Waldograve, Under-Secretary for Justice, has been indisposed for the past two or three days. '• ■ - Prince Tnngi, son and heir of King George Tubou 11, Ruler of the Tonga Isles, left Auckland for ' Wellington by the Main Trunk last night.- He will [ catch the Sydney boat to-day en route for England and the Coronation.—Press Association. Mr. Justice Chapman will leave for Nelson to-morrow to preside over the Supreme Court sittings, which opens thereon Monday. Mr. Justice Sim will take up the Wellington Court civil business on Monday next. - Mr. B. Wilson, director of the Tourist Department, returned last evening from a visit to tho northern resorts. A few weeks ago it was announced in The Dominion that Herr Adolf Szenes, a distinguished Hungarian violinist, had, for health reasons, decided to take up his residence in Wellington, and that he would arrive hero towards the'end of January. Letters have been received this wesk giving the reason for his non-arrival. It appears that in crossing from Constantinople to Cairo (whence he-was to proI oecd to Port Said to pick Tip the, steamer for Sydney)'liis luggage, including his.two valuable violins, was by some' strange freak of fate dispatchcd' to. Cairo, Illinois, U.S.A., instead of across tho Mediterranean, and the violinist was left,lamenting on (ho banks of the ..Nile, while his luggage was ' being hurried to America. 51. Szenes hopes to arrive in Wellington in April. . ■ . Councillor Jas.' Williams has been appointed to succeed Mr. G. Carson on the Hospital Board as representative -of Wanganui and Wanganui East. Dr. J. M. Christie, who;is leaving Wanganui shortly, hits resigned his position as-consulting surgeon to the -Wanganui Hospital. ' The Wanganui Hospital Board has ap-. pointed Miss Gillan, of Wanganui, matron of. Taihape Hospital, and; is calling for applications for a medical officer for the same institution. V The Rev. James Ings, lately of Xondon, but a. native of Dunedin, has ■ accepted tho pastorate- qf Ashburton- vßaptist Church.—Press Association.' The staff, of ihe Anglican Homo Mission' in' the dioceso of Auckland took advantage, of the Synod meeting on ■'Tuesday to make a presentation to the superintendent of the mission; Archdeacon Colo, D.C.L., and to Mrs. Cole, as an expression of the staff's regards for' ; them both. The gift to Dr. Cole was a beautifur prie-dien, and that to Mrs. Cole a pretty cake-stand.. The. Rev. C. Mortimer Jones, on behalf of . the; staff, made the presentation. .- L iMr. "G.
