FALL FROM MOVING TRAIN. | (By Tclcsrapb.-Rpccial Correspondent.) ' Featherston, February 20. About seven o'clock to-night a middleaged man, supposed to have just arrived from Australia, fell oil the train from Wellington to Mastorton just after leaving Pigeon Bush. The train was backed, nnd tho man picked up, when it was ascertained that he was only dazed. THE PONSOXBY FIRE. (By Tclecraph.—l'rcss Association.) Auckland, February 20. All those injured in last Thursday's lire are progressing satisfactorily, with tho exception of Mrs. Forteous, whose condition is still serious. SEVERELY BURNED. . . Auckland, February 20. Two men were severely burned at Wilson's Portland Cement Works at Warkworth to-<lay. A bin into which the coal runs overflowed and caught fire, and both men wero badly burned. They were brought to the .Auckland' Hospital. LITTLE BOY DROWNED. Gisborne, February 20. Tho three-year-old son of John Christio M! into tho river at Waitomata Valley yesterday while playing with his brother, and was drowned. • HEART FAILURE. Hawera, February 20. Fatrick Phelan, aged fifty-six, a single man, who was a visitor to Hawera from Grcymonth, died suddenly at 12.15 on Sunday morning of heart failure. . FATALITY AT OTAHAIA. Inspector Ellison received ( a telegram yesterday stating that a man named Timothy M'Fadzen, aged 46, had been killed through falling off a dray at.Mr. Perry's farm, Otaraia, near Martinborough on Sunday morning.
